“Kate is an amazing acting coach. I’ve worked with her for some time now and came from no previous experience. She made me feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. Her knowledge of developing as an actor as well as of the entertainment industry as a whole is inspiring. Every session is inspiring and exciting. I always look forward to working with her.”

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed every moment… with Kate [as her teacher]…She was beyond amazing! The depth of knowledge that she has and shared… was so beneficial. Addison is sad to have ended her time with Kate. She told me after her last class that she’s truly going to miss her. I pray that future parents and children get to spend time with her. She’s wonderful. Thank you Kate!”

My Background

I’m an actress, writer and director, who did my undergraduate work at Boston University, The University of Salamanca, and Antioch University, respectively. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, as well as a diploma in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

As a woman who has been in the film industry for over 15 years, and who has been coaching aspiring actors since Covid entered the picture in 2020, I’ve realized that being a terrific actor is not simply about understanding your type, or having the strongest headshot, or even about understanding your character’s objective. Sure, all of those things are crucial to being good at what you do, but I’ve come to believe that the relationship you have with yourself, and the strength of your “mental diet” are two of the most important (and often under discussed) components of successful, powerful actors.

“You were a great coach/teacher, all of your advice was amazing and super helpful. I think I improved overall as a person and an actor from those short 5 weeks, so thank you!”

— Julia S. (age 14)

“You are such a sweet and beautiful woman! On the inside and out! You are what has inspired me to keep pushing through all of my [trials] in life and you have helped me stay sober… Love you!”

— Ben R. (age 32)

“The agency wants me!! I am so excited! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me!I wouldn’t be in the spot I am without you!! I miss you ! :( But seriously thank you so much again for teaching me, helping me improve, and giving me advice for things I can use for the rest of my life!”

— Olivia M. (age 14)

As an inherently sensitive person who has studied with a myriad of coaches and in acting schools all over the world, I believe that creating a safe, open, and trusting environment is paramount to creating meaningful work. I find I flourish the most when my director and/or instructor gives me insightful, constructive criticism, without making me feel small, or dumb, or wrong. The irony is that, the safer the space, the less safe my choices are. And, in my opinion, taking big risks by making specific, nuanced, and emotionally raw choices is right where we want to be. To that end, I offer the same kind of environment to my students, while incorporating spiritual practices like meditation, breath work, and positive affirmations. A regulated nervous system allows you to connect to your body, and it is from this space that we usually do our best work.
